• Former member of Workers and Unemployed Action Group.
• Mayor of Conmel from 2003-2004.
• First elected to Clonmel Corporation in 1994 and Tipperary South Riding County Council in 1999.
• Topped the poll in the Clonmel Electoral area in 2004 local elections.
• Polled 7,897 first preference votes in Tipperary South By Election, June 2001.
• Contested 2007 General Election and Seanad Elections
