Why I got involved in politics

After spending years in the Prison service and after been a former Chair, secretary, treasurer and NEC member of the Prison Officers association I felt I had built experience and had more to give in terms of change in the Portlaoise area.

Had involvement in a host of charitable/social/sporting and entertainment groups with in the community.

A drive to help people. Been involved in local campaign groups like Hospital Action Group and the local pantomime group to raise money for the local community.

My priorities

I have been actively involved in local campaign groups most notably the Hospital Action group which has managed to maintain most of its services. I am also involved in local pantomime group which has managed to raise funds for local community.

Want to see accountability in relation to planning as it has been particularly inappropriate over the years in Portlaoise.
