A chairde,

I have been actively involved in campaigning through community and student groups on issues that are built upon our core values and principles. I joined Labour once I had concluded my time as an elected representative within the Student Movement because I believe that the Labour Party has a crucial role to play in shaping the future of our country, and I am committed to working hard to ensure that our party continues to be a strong and effective voice for social justice, equality, and fairness.

If elected, I will work tirelessly to advance the party’s agenda and support our members across the country. I will listen to your concerns, advocate for your needs, and work collaboratively with other committee members to build a stronger, more vibrant Labour Party in Ireland.

Please contact me on [email protected] or 087 276 3941.

Le meas,

Lorna Fitzpatrick

I am delighted to be putting my name forward for election to the Labour Party Executive Board (Women’s Panel). I am currently a member of the Labour Equality Executive and have worked on initiatives to provide educational opportunities in facing the rise of the right. I have a wealth of experience that I would like to apply more of to my party engagement. I would like to bring my skills, experience and democratic socialist principles in contributing to growing our Labour movement and make Ireland a better place for all.

Over the past 20 years, in both a personal and professional capacity, I have worked hard to promote issues of equality and social inclusion. This includes campaigning for the “Repeal” referendum,  equality proofing strategies and policies, and promoting diversity and inclusion as a volunteer in community organisations.

I’m extremely driven and focused, a mum of two young children, and work full-time.  I have a lot to contribute both in policy oversight and in engagement, supporting members to express their views on important issues of governance and accountability, and know I could do this through the Executive Board.

I would be honoured to represent the voice of the Labour Party membership and ask for your support in voting Rebekah Fozzard #1 .

I’m re-running for the Executive Board because I’m passionate about our Labour Party and its future.

This is an exciting and critical time for the Labour Party, as we get closer to the Local and European Elections in May 2024, and with a General Election on the horizon. I want to play my part in that preparation and the continued strengthening of our Party.

I believe I have a lot to offer on the EB. My experience includes leading the student campaign for marriage equality in 2015 when I was president of USI and working as national Head of Mobilisation for the Together for Yes campaign in 2018. I have experience serving on a number of boards and, in my current role as an Executive Director, I also have experience in terms of financial oversight and good governance.

I’m asking for your number 1 vote or highest preference.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at conference in Cork!

Laura

In  the  coming year, our Labour Party is faced with both challenges and opportunities. Under our leader Ivana Bacik, we must prepare for upcoming elections, build our membership nationwide and develop a strong platform as the party of social democracy and socialism in Ireland.

As a member for 40 years and as a representative of you, our members, on the Executive Board – I believe that our TDs, Senators, Councillors, Local Area Reps and activists are the soul of our great party and represent our best opportunity to grow in the coming years.

As a former candidate, I understand the organisational challenges facing constituencies across the country in the coming months. If re-elected to the Executive Board, I will bring my four decades of experience as a member and an activist in representing your views at the highest level of our party. I ask that you vote Valerie McDermott #1.
