Jim Connell (27 March 1852 – 8 February 1929) was an Irish political activist of the late 19th century and early 20th century, best known as the writer of the anthem The Red Flag in December 1889.
Speakers at the Festival include Labour Historian, Francis Devine, Owen Reidy from ICTU, Moira Leydon from ASTI and Patricia McKeown from Unison. The Red Flag will of course be sung and there will be a parade around the village of Crossakiel. All welcome!
