The positive energy and enthusiasm in the room was palpable as Councillors, candidates and prospective candidates from everywhere from Killarney, Manorhamilton, Clontarf and Templeogue got together in anticipation of the 2024 Local Elections which will be held on June 7th next year.
There were well attended workshops on the local election manifesto, social media, traditional media, campaigning and fundraising along with the necessary social element of a dinner and drinks reception. The Think-in also heard from Party Leader Ivana Bacik who addressed the event on Friday evening. It was fantastic to be able to get together with old friends and make a few new ones along the way as seasoned campaigners and first-time candidates exchanged tips, tricks and stories on the campaign trail. Labour Councillors are the largest group of public representatives in the party and we are working hard to grow that group beyond the 56 we already have. The local elections are less than a year away and are vital for the future growth and strength of the party.
Labour Councillors are known to be effective, committed, diligent public representatives so please get behind your local Labour Candidate next year. As we head into the 2024 Local Elections, we have more candidates and area representatives identified than in 2019. We are always on the look out for candidates. If you are passionate about your community and want to make your area a better place or know anyone who is please get in touch with Aideen, Aaron or Conor on the organising team. Remember now is the right time and you are the right person.
