Professor Niamh Hourigan is a Sociologist and Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Mary Immaculate College. She is a member of the Teaching Council, the Board of the Central Applications Office (CAO) and a member of the Irish Department of Justice’s Review Team of Civil Legal Aid. Niamh has a long and proud track record of standing up for social and economic equality and she is standing for election to the European Parliament, to represent the Labour values of equality, solidarity and fairness in Brussels.
Niamh has already identified that her priorities for her campagin will be to fight for a Just Transition to a greener economy, to Introduce a European Plan for Affordable Housing and to protect Irish neutrality. We are looking forward to supporting Niamh’s campaign and helping her to put the Labour voice back in Europe.
