We have some really exciting candidates with strong Labour values coming forward to run for the party all over the country, to build on the great work of our 56 brilliant sitting councillors. Selection conventions have commenced in earnest so we can get our candidates out on the doors speaking to people about building an Ireland that works for all.
Our first selection convention for the Local Elections took place in Tipperary on Friday 9th June, with candidates Cllr. Fiona Bonfield in Newport and Louise Morgan-Walsh receiving huge support on the night.
Next up we had selection conventions in the Party Leader’s constituency in Dublin Bay South, with Cllr. Dermot Lacey being selected in Pembroke, Cllr. Fiona Connelly being selected in Kimmage-Rathmines and Eddie McGuinness and Carol Reynolds selected for the South East Inner City.
Last night, in Dublin Bay North, Ali Field was selected in Clontarf and Shane Folan was selected in Donaghmede.
Keep an eye out on the party’s social media accounts as we share details of more of our amazing candidates over the next few months.
If your constituency is eager to hold a selection convention in your area, or if you have any questions about putting yourself forward for election or how you can help with our campaign, please get in touch anytime at [email protected].
