Time for Ross to prove his mettle – Humphreys

07 September 2016

Ahead of industrial action planned by Dublin Bus workers tomorrow, Labour spokesperson for Dublin, Senator Kevin Humphreys has offered his support for striking workers and has called on Minister Shane Ross to intervene.

“With this strike costing Dublin businesses €2.1 million a day and 500,000 bus journeys being affected, it is high time Shane Ross sat down with representatives from NRBU and SIPTU to allow Dublin Bus to protect and improve the conditions of its workers, who are at the frontline in delivering an ever improving and excellent service to the people of Dublin.

“Last week, Shane Ross described his transport portfolio as a ‘doddle’, the Minister now needs to prove his mettle and bring Dublin Bus and the unions together to seek a resolution for the workers and for the commuters of Dublin.
