Labour Party Leader and Spokesperson on Northern Ireland, Brendan Howlin has expressed sympathy on the passing of former SDLP MLA for South Down PJ Bradley.

“I was saddened today to hear of the passing of former MLA for South Down, PJ Bradley.

“As a man with enormous interest in the local history of the Burren in Co. Down, PJ often celebrated the life of Jim Larkin and his connection to the county.

“In the last Dáil, many Labour members spoke highly of the contribution PJ Bradley made to the All-Party Group on Commemorations.

“On behalf of the Labour Party, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and our colleagues in the SDLP at this time.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
