Labour to protest outside Russian Embassy
The Labour Party will stand in support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people at 1pm tomorrow to protest outside the Russian Embassy in Dublin.
Commenting on the atrocity of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Labour spokesperson Ivana Bacik said:
“The Labour Party stands in full solidarity with the people of Ukraine following the brutal and unprovoked Russian invasion. As more horrific news reaches us by the hour, the Labour Party stand in full condemnation of these acts of Russian aggression.
“The unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russia threatens the peace of all Europe, peace that was hard won and peace that should never be taken for granted.
“The lives of thousands of people are at risk in Ukraine and the actions of Putin are completely unacceptable. We need to see the strongest possible sanctions put in place including removing Russia from SWIFT.
“We will stand in solidarity with Ukraine in protest tomorrow. Ireland must show courage and leadership by continuing to support the Ukraine community here at home.”
