Why I got involved in politics

My priorities

My priorities are seen in my commitment to serve my community in improving the lives of our residents. I strongly believe in collaboration and proactive approach in governance. I am dedicated to work very hard for the community I represent by :

  • Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders to address challenges and goals.
  • Encouraging Economic development 
  • Listen actively to the concerns, ideas and needs of the Residents.

My background

My name is Blessing Oguekwe; I am a new Labour Area Representative. I live in Tuam, Co. Galway. I work with Brothers of Charity in Galway supporting Adult with intellectual Disabilities. A Nurse by Profession, with 

BSc in Nursing at University of Limerick, Postgrad in Palliative care (National University of 

Ireland, Galway), and Masters in Health Promotion (Atlantic Technological University Sligo)

An Entrepreneur, a Youth worker, I’m involved in my local community, volunteering in different areas.

I am married with three wonderful children

I am a Christian, who loves to serve humanity.
