Statement by Labour Councillors on Dublin City Council

Tuesday 7th March

The Labour Group of Councillors on Dublin City Council support the retention of Dublin Fire Brigade call and dispatch operation in Tara St. Station. Councillors regret that the failure of DCC Management to engage in a meaningful way with the Ambulance Forum to resolve this dispute has now resulted in DFB issuing strike notice.

Labour Councillors support the implementation of a telecommunications solution between DFB call and dispatch and NAS call and dispatch to address HIQA concerns regarding calls dropping between the two services. Such a solution would allow appropriate integration of the two services urge.

Labour Councillors urge Dublin City Senior Management to re-engage with the Forum and come to an agreed solution that will prevent a withdrawal of this vital service to our citizens on March 18th and March 27th
