Ban AI generated intimate images - The Labour Party

Advances in AI mean real harm is happening right now and our laws are not keeping pace with the creation and sharing of intimate images made to look like a real person without their consent.

Our proposed law would criticise the act of generating intimate images using AI and make it an offence for publishers to encourage, facilitate or allow the generation and spread of this material. It would make platforms like X subject to unlimited fines.

No one should live in fear that their image or identity can be abused, manipulated or weaponised without consent. No woman should face the threat of having her image, reputation or dignity violated in this way.

This is incredibly urgent. Government must act immediately.
