Risen People Podcast

In this month’s Risen People Podcast, Senator Marie Sherlock is joined by ICTU General Secretary, Owen Reidy, SIPTU Deputy General Secretary Greg Ennis and Labour Trade Unionists Eilish Balfe and Cllr Alison Gilliland to discuss a potentially transformational piece of legislation for workers’ rights in Ireland. The EU Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages.

We hope this episode Turning the Tide: Winning workers a right to Organise and Unionise can kick-start a conversation in our party and our movement about how best we can transpose this Directive by November 2024. How best it can serve our people, working people, by removing fundamental barriers that hamper workplace organising as well as identifying the key demands for a more supportive environment for unions to organise in, including a complete ban on Union Busting and to create the conditions that gives people access to their fundamental right to unionise and collectively bargain through a trade union. We hope you enjoy.
