Boys in green on screen, a victory for fans

23 June 2016

Earlier today on the Order of Business in Dáil Eireann I called for a big screen fan zone to be set up in Dublin on Sunday for the Ireland Vs France match.

I am delighted the government and Dublin City Council has accepted the Labour Party’s call and a big screen fan zone will be located on Smithfield Square on Sunday.

This will provide a fantastic atmosphere for Ireland fans to gather together to cheer on the boys in the green. It will also mean that families will be able to watch the match without having to go to the pub.

The Ireland team have performed brilliantly to advance from the most difficult group at Euro 2016. It is the first time since 2002 Ireland has reached the knock out phases of a football tournament.

I wish the Ireland team the very best of luck in their match against France.
