Dunbrody Famine Ship a worthy recipient of CIÉ Award of Excellence

Brendan Howlin, TD for Wexford and Labour Party Leader, has extended his congratulations to the team at the Dunbrody Famine Ship and Irish Immigrant Experience, Co. Wexford. Dunbrody Famine Ship was awarded a Merit Award at the 29th International Annual CIE Tours Awards of Excellence.

“I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Seán Connick and his team at the Dunbrody Famine Ship and Irish Emigrant Experience on receiving a Merit Award from CIÉ. The CIÉ International Excellence Awards have been running for 29 years and their recognition for this important tourist experience is a great achievement.

“Wexford tourism is some of the best in Ireland. I am particularly proud that a tourist experience which prioritizes the preservation of such an important, albeit tragic, chapter of Ireland’s history. It is incredibly important that both Irish and International tourist alike have the opportunity to learn about our shared experience.”
