IAA right to suspend Boeing Max Aircraft

12 March 2019

Labour Transport Spokesperson Sen. Kevin Humphreys has commended the Irish Aviation Association decision to temporarily suspend the operation of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in Irish Airspace.

Sen. Humphreys said:

“I welcome the decision by the IAA to temporarily suspend the operation of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in and out of Irish airspace. Recent events have left many in the industry seriously concerned for the safety of passengers and staff onboard these aircraft.

“The prioritisation of safety by the IAA above all else is a reassuring message for potential passengers.

“I hope that the Department of Transport and Minister Ross will offer the IAA any and all support which they may need at this time.”
