Developer greed on show again at St. Anne’s Park
Labour Senator for Dublin Bay North Aodhán Ó Ríordáin has said the latest planning application for St. Anne’s Park in Raheny is another example of developer greed taking priority over the needs of a local community.
Senator Ó Ríordáin, who has spearheaded the ongoing campaign to protect the future of the park, commented:
“This latest planning application for 647 apartments in blocks of 5-9 stories in height, is twice the size of the 2015 application.
“What we’re seeing here is just the latest attempt to destroy these lands under the guise of a strategic housing process.
“Once again this shows the flawed nature of the Strategic Housing Development Act, which prioritises developer greed over the needs of communities.
“Concerned residents can be assured that our campaign to retain the environmental integrity of St. Anne’s Park continues and we will once again oppose this proposed development.
“Residents have until the 20th November to lodge an objection, and I will continue to campaign on their behalf.”
