Nash to host briefing on proposed JLC reforms
Labour Senator Ged Nash will host a briefing at 11am tomorrow, Thursday 21st November in the AV Room in Leinster House with SIPTU on his proposed the Industrial Relations (Joint Labour Committees) Bill, 2019.
The Bill is designed to address the very real issue of the ‘employer veto’ at Joint Labour Committee (JLC) level and ultimately to allow for the making and adoption of Employment Regulation Orders where employer bodies do not engage in the JLC process.
The briefing will hear from frontline workers in, for example, the hotels and catering industries on why the law needs to be changed to set better pay and working conditions in these and other sectors.
ENDS
Please note that media may attend on background, but no filming or photography is allowed in the AV room for this event. Participants will be available to speak afterwards outside the Leinster House complex.
