GRA claims on armed back up must be answered urgently
Labour General Election candidate for Louth, Senator Ged Nash has said claims made by the Garda Representative Association that Gardai were waiting hours for armed back up in Drogheda last week must be urgently addressed by the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner.
Senator Nash said:
“These serious claims made by the representative body for frontline Gardaí are very disturbing.
“This statement from the GRA is of the utmost gravity and demands an urgent response.
“Our Gardaí need the full support of the State in their dedicated work to bring those involved in criminal gangs to justice.
“These claims, made in writing to the Head of Emergency Response, must be treated with the seriousness they deserve.”
