Labour Party candidates fired up for General Election 2024
Labour Party Director of Elections for the upcoming General Election Brendan Howlin TD has set out Labour’s plans for the election.
Deputy Howlin said:
“The Labour Party is one of deep roots and green shoots and I am very proud of our candidates in communities across the country. Labour candidates have been preparing for this election for some months now.
“Too many people feel utterly left behind by this Government. The two main parties of this Government have governed together since 2016 yet they have squandered the last 8 years of prosperity.
“Labour will be offering a clear alternative to the public over the next three weeks. We’re fighting this election to build a better Ireland, to build better together.
“We’ll contest this election on a positive platform – on the issues that matter to people – housing, climate, children’s rights. Our dedicated candidates are fired up and ready to hit the ground running.
“We have 32 candidates across 31 different constituencies fighting for a fairer, more equal Ireland.
“At any time after a Dáil election has been called, the Labour Party Leader and Labour Party Chairperson may, acting jointly, may decide to add a candidate or candidates to contest the election in any constituency. This process is now underway and as such, more candidates may be selected before the close of nominations.
“Your vote is your voice. This election will be crucial for Ireland and its success over the coming decade. The Labour Party has always been a party that values diversity and rejects division. We intend to fight this campaign on these terms.”
