Pfizer management must provide clarity to workers - The Labour Party
Labour TD for Cork North Central Eoghan Kenny has urged Pfizer management to engage with staff ahead of potential job cuts.
Speaking today, Deputy Kenny said:
“I want to express solidarity with all those working in Pfizer, this is a deeply uncertain and uneasy time and I would urge workers to engage with their union locally.
“Any job loss is a massive blow to the individual, their family and the wider community. This is the second mooted redundancy in the past 18 months so it is causing widespread concern across the company for those working there.
“Management must engage in good faith and protect jobs where possible, and work through the union to find an agreed redundancy package if it is not possible to save jobs.
“It’s clear that the site is entering a very difficult period and the staff on site have many concerns going forward which management must address to provide certainty on the future.”
