House Limerick closure a blow for workers and city – Sheehan - The Labour Party
Labour TD for Limerick Conor Sheehan has expressed his solidarity with workers following the announcement of the closure of House Limerick, which is set to result in the loss of almost 60 jobs.
Deputy Sheehan said:
“My thoughts are first and foremost with the workers affected by these job losses. This is an incredibly worrying and uncertain time for them and their families, particularly for those who have spent years working in House Limerick.
“The loss of almost 60 jobs is a significant blow, not only for the workers directly affected but for Limerick city. House has been a well-known part of the city’s hospitality sector, and many people will be saddened to see it close.
“The workers involved deserve to know exactly where they stand and to receive clear and timely information about their rights and entitlements.
“Hospitality workers have faced enormous uncertainty in recent years, and the closure of a major venue employing almost 60 people underlines the pressures facing the sector.
“My office is available to any worker affected by the closure who has questions or needs assistance accessing the appropriate support. I would encourage anyone impacted to get in touch.”
