Why I got involved in politics

One of the reasons I am involved in politics is that we are not just individuals. We are part of families, neighborhoods, communities. If we want a better life for all we need stronger communities we need to be good neighbors and increasingly global citizens.

I enjoy working with others who have the same passionate and commitment to make our community stronger and society more equal.

My priorities

Priorities include:

Committed to public service.

Delivery of Athy Southern Distributor Road.

Provision of improved local Health Care services

Delivery of social and affordable housing.

Investment in infrastructure, including water services and rejuvenation of villages and settlements

Delivery of social and affordable housing in our villages and towns.

Development of Athy Municipal District as a tourist destination including the development of the Blueway

Delivery of a proper public  rural transport.

Providing a living wage

The delivery of Athy Food, Drink & Skills Innovation Hub which will be a centre for educational, and training skills for those both employees and employers in the food section and will lead to economic  growth for the area.

My background

I have been a member of Athy Town Council since 2003. I have worked in the Labour Party’s advice centre on Leinster Street as Jack Wall’s Constituency Secretary for over ten years.

I meet people of Athy on a daily basis and I know the struggles that we all have to endure to make ends meet. These are difficult and challenging times for everyone, I have seen first hand over the last number of months how the economic gains of the past decade have literally been washed away.
