Why I got involved in politics
I joined the Labour Party in 2018 with a view to running in the local elections in 2019 . I got involved in politics to be able to help as many people as possible in my district & County Wexford in all areas that effect them.
I come from a tourism and hospitality background and felt there was inadequate representation from this industry in local politics .
My priorities
My priorities for my area are to ensure the housing stock is adequate for the demand, our mental health services are fully staffed , the TUSE Wexford Campus is built and our local communities receive as much support as required to enable them provide the services they deliver . I also want to encourage job creation especially in the tourism industry
My background
My professional background is in the tourism & hospitality industry . I have worked for 35 years in this industry , the last 20 years as General Manager of a large tourist attraction
/ not-for-profit organisation .
I am currently self employed as a tourism consultant & . am also studying Forest Therapy .
