Why I got involved in politics
I am passionate about Limerick, and I want to make Limerick an even better place to live, work, and play. I am also passionate about working tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of our local communities and representing them to the best of my ability.
My late Grandmother Kathleen Reale was a community activist for many years with strong Labour Party values and that is where I believe my passion for politics comes from.
My priorities
Communities – advocating for better community facilities and amenities, listening to the real needs of people and being their local voice. Building better, cleaner and safer communities.
A more resourceful Limerick – fighting for more resources in regard to childcare supports, crime prevention and improved events and festivals.
My background
I grew up in Garryowen with my mother, brother and sister. I attended school in St John the Baptist BNS and CBS Sexton Street and college in TUS Midwest.
I have been involved in the community and voluntary sector for many years, working for various community-based organisations representing and advocating for the needs of some of our most marginalised communities. I have worked previously in Community Development, Youth Services and am currently working the local Sports Partnership.
I am deeply involved in my own local community, and I stay active by running, playing football with Geraldines AFC and GAA with St Patrick’s GAA Club and have the privilege of togging out alongside the great Gearoid Hegarty.
