Every child deserves a fair start. Last year, Labour’s survey found that families spend on every €116 on school books alone.

Booklists are starting to arrive into homes, and families will be forced to do without more to give their children a chance. In a wealthy country, Government must do more for children.

School books should simply be free. With the budget potentially only weeks away, providing school books for families would make a real impact. Hard working parents can’t cut back any more.
