German Justice Minister to visit Border Friday Evening – 5pm

The German Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, Katarina Barley will visit the border in North Louth, on Friday afternoon with Labour Party Leader Brendan Howlin, Senator Ged Nash, and Claire Hanna MLA, SDLP Brexit spokesperson.

In Germany, Katarina Barley is the lead candidate for Labour’s sister party, the SPD (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands) in the European parliament elections in May.

Katarina will be available to speak to media at the Carrickdale Hotel at 5pm on Friday 1st February.

As part of her visit she is undertaking a tour of the immediate border area in North Louth. She will also take part in a number of meetings with:

  • Border Communities Against Brexit
  • Dundalk, and Drogheda Chambers of Commerce
  • Louth County Council Executives
  • The Centre for Cross Border studies
  • SIPTU
  • Claire Hanna, Brexit spokesperson for the SDLP.
