Labour to select Sligo Strandhill candidate – Tuesday 8pm SIPTU offices

The Labour Party in Sligo will on Tuesday night at 8pm meet at SIPTU offices in Hanson Retail Park, to select our candidate for the Sligo-Strandhill local electoral area.

Labour will select one candidate to run in the six seat ward in the upcoming local elections in May. Labour Party Leader Brendan Howlin will attend.

The candidate going forward is Nessa Cosgrove who has lived with her family in Cartron, Sligo town since 2003.

She has worked as a Youth Liaison Worker with the Sligo Leitrim Home Youth Liaison Service since 2005, and holds a Master’s degree in Social Science (Youth and Community Work) from UCC.

Nessa is very active in her local community and is Chairperson of Cartron Community Recreational Committee and Treasurer of Sligo Family Resource Centre. She is also a Beaver Scout Leader.

She is an active member of the SIPTU Sligo/ Leitrim Roscommon District Council and was very involved in the Together for Yes Campaign in Sligo
