19 February 2019

The Labour Party in Kilkenny will on Tuesday night at 8pm meet at Castlecomer Community Hall, to select our candidate for the Castlecomer local electoral area.

Labour will select one candidate to run in the six seat ward in the upcoming local elections in May. Labour Party Leader Brendan Howlin will attend.

The candidate going forward is Denis Hynes, a SIPTU official from Goresbridge.

Cllr Maurice Shortall will be stepping down in May following 15 years of service on Kilkenny County Council and will nominate Denis on the night. Maurice was first elected in 2004, but has been a Labour member since 1981, and first stood in 1999.

Photos of the event will be available for distribution and publication afterwards from the Labour Party.
