Commission VP & PES Common Candidate Timmermans to campaign in Ireland Friday

The Party of European Socialists (PES) common candidate (to replace Jean Claude Juncker), and current First Vice President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans will visit Ireland on Friday 10th May to campaign with Labour Party Euro candidates across the three constituencies. Timmermans will be available to speak to national media when he visits a social housing development in Beech Hill Terrace Donnybrook, Dublin from 9am Friday with Alex White and Brendan Howlin TD.

Mr Timmermans is the second most senior Commissioner, and the common candidate for the second largest political party in the European Union. One of his campaign commitments is to secure the use of EU strucutral funds for investment in social housing.

Schedule for Friday 10th May

– 7.30am commuter canvas in Maynooth, Kildare.

– 9am – visit social housing development delivered by the Labour Party in Beech Hill Terrace, Donnybrook, Dublin. Media invited to attend.

– 11am – visit Bray, Wicklow to see flood defence project.
