Michael Murphy selected as Local Area Rep for the Kilmacthomas- Portlaw Local Electoral Area
Michael Murphy, Bonmahohn has been selected as the Local Area Representative for the Kilmacthomas- Portlaw (Comeragh) Local Electoral Area. Michael is 24 years old, a graduate from WIT in Social Science, Former Welfare Officer and President of WIT Students’ Union and is currently working in Waterford as a Housing Support Worker for Focus Ireland. Michael is a local of the Comeragh area having grown up in the Parish of Kilrossanty, went to school in Kilmacthomas and now lives on Coastguard Road, Bonmahon.
Michael Murphy said
“The issues facing ordinary, genuine and hardworking people spanning across Ireland today are certainly felt in our locality. I believe that together we can see real change whilst providing support to those who need it in our community. I have most recently demonstrated this by leading a community group on the Copper Coast around the issue of litter amongst many others.
Michael went on to say that he encourages all to come forward with any issues they are experiencing.
“I could state the issues that are clear in our area but instead I want to lead the change that you ask me to. What is it that you want to see action on in your local area? What issues are you facing? Let me try to help
Michael who intends to contest to next local elections in Waterford finished by expressing that “No issue is too big or too small, be it a pot hole or a street light all the way to the development of your locality or village, anti-social behaviour or traffic calming measures please don’t hesitate in asking for assistance. I have been and will continue to work on behalf of the people in the Comeragh area.
