Covalen must prioritise workers amidst job losses - The Labour Party

Labour workers’ rights spokesperson Senator Nessa Cosgrove has called on outsourcing firm Covalen to fully engage with staff and their representatives following confirmation to Government of potential job cuts.
Senator Cosgrove said:
“My thoughts are first and foremost with the workers affected by these threatened job cuts. This is an incredibly worrying and uncertain time for them and their families, and they deserve clear information and fair treatment throughout this process.
“What we are seeing at Covalen is part of a wider and deeply concerning trend across the tech sector. It is essential that Covalen fully engages with staff representatives and listens to the concerns of workers.
“Covalen must engage openly and honestly with its staff, and Government must step up to protect workers and ensure that fairness, dignity and respect are at the centre of every workplace decision.”
