Why I got involved in politics
Having benefited from the trade union movement as a unionized worker, I know how important it is to stand up for employee rights.
Another reason I got involved in politics was to try to tackle the injustices suffered by those less well off and to help in some small way that they have access to housing, the health system and education. Ability to pay should not be a defining factor.
My priorities
My priorities are to ensure Rural Towns and Villages remain Vibrant. Extending The Greenway into West Waterford and ensuring we benefit from the blue way and increase the use of our rivers which in turn offers a tourism offering.
Working to ensure housing build increases. 24/7 Cardiac Care, delivering a University and affordable Childcare for all.
My background
I am married to Margo and I have one stepson Liam. Former Mayor Of WCC. My main interests are GAA, Social Dancing and Badminton.
I have always been a community activist involved in many committees youth club, Hall committees and board member of Credit Union and former board member of Waterford Leader Partnership.
