Labour Women will be holding a public discussion on maternity services in Ireland this Saturday in Cork City. Speakers include Louise Kenny (Cork Women’s Clinic), Dr Jo Murphy Lawless and Rebecca Hegarty (AIMS Ireland). Some of our public representatives including Seán Sherlock TD will also be in attendance.
It is now nearly a year since the launch of the National Maternity Strategy and yet major inequalities exist across Ireland in terms of access to quality maternity services. In many areas vital services such as ultrasound and perinatal psychiatry are extremely limited or absent.
