Labour Party spokesperson on Community Arts, Cllr Rebecca Moynihan is encouraging people to step out on Culture Night and enjoy the wealth of culture on offer in towns and cities around the country on Friday the 22nd of September.

Cllr Moynihan stated:

“Since its inception as the Temple Bar Culture Night in 2006, this event has now spread to towns and cities right across Ireland. This phenomenal growth has shown there is a real appetite among people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and enjoy cultural events and buildings in their towns and cities.

“The sheer breadth of tours, talks and performances to be experienced on the night is a credit to the organisers of this wonderful event. What is great about Culture Night is that it allows people to get involved in cultural activities on their doorstep.

“The Arts and Culture are central to Irish identity, but often we don’t appreciate in what is on our door step or see the diversity of what is on offer in our community. Culture night brings our cultural spaces alive, I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to find an event in your locality on Culture Night and enjoy the vast and varied cultural offering available.”
